ADRIENNE WEHR

Award-winning performer/producer, Adrienne Wehr is a force in independent filmmaking outside of the traditional Hollywood mold. She and Melissa Martin produced the critically acclaimed, multi award-winning indie feature The Bread, My Sweet (aka: A Wedding for Bella) which remains in worldwide distribution. Currently, she and Frank Ferraro, along with Martin, and Tammy Tsai of Bad Lady Flicks, are teamed up on the multi award-winning web series Dog Bytes: https://www.youtube.com/user/dogbytestheseries This series has garnered both international as well as domestic acclaim.

For more than a decade, Adrienne was Associate Producer for the Emmy award-winning children’s television program Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood—the show that shaped America’s values for children and was the benchmark for quality programming.

Adrienne is featured in Chris Gore’s Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide (3rd Edition) relaying the winning strategy behind guiding The Bread, My Sweet through its celebrated festival season onto its global distribution. She has been a consultant for and lecturer on independent filmmaking, an art director/production designer/wardrobe stylist for film, commercials, and new media. She served as the lead film/media grant panelist for the Heinz Endowments Small Arts Initiative; has been a guest teaching artist for Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Point Park University, Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh Filmmakers; a cross-disciplinary arts educator for the Carnegie Museum of Art and at-risk communities; creative writing and arts educator at The American School in Switzerland; art/director and producer for HBM/Creamer; production manager, writer and graphic designer for Gateway Studios; acting coach and professional illustrator.

She produced & performed in live theatre productions for La MaMa ETC in New York City and was the founding producer/host of the long-lived theatrical cabaret The Dark Night Series for City Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA. She was Chairperson for the Pittsburgh Film and Media Alliance, a longtime board member and national convention delegate for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), Councilor for Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG), and is also a member of Actors Equity Association (AEA) and IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees). She serves as a member of the performance company, as well as on the Board of Advisors, at Off the Wall Productions of The Carnegie Stage.

In 2015 she was a keynote speaker for the Women and Girls’ Foundation inaugural Crossroads conference; the recipient of Women in Film and Media’s distinguished Opal Award in 2011 for Excellence in the field of Film/Media; has been named in the past by the Pittsburgh’s Post Gazette as one of Fifty Finest, as among 40 Under 40 by Pittsburgh Magazine, and has performed in numerous award-winning independent films and commercial campaigns. Recently she was nominated for BEST FEMALE ACTOR honors at Rio Webfest in Rio De Janeiro for Dog Bytes, just one of scores of wins/nominations that series has received.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Writing/Literature with a minor in Performing and Visual Arts from Denison University; studied Communication Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; Production, Lighting Design, and Dance at Point Park University.

Adrienne and Frank Ferraro are currently developing a new, multi-platform performance art project entitled IN THE COMPANY OF GHOSTS, slated to premiere at the New Hazlett Theatre in Pittsburgh in 2017.
